You don't need Oprah to tell you your stuff is cool

Sometimes people in smaller towns think stuff in bigger towns is better because it's in a bigger town. Sometimes people in smaller towns expect to park right out front, but are willing to walk for blocks, even miles in a bigger town. And sometimes people in smaller towns need or want someone from a bigger town to validate the stuff in a smaller town.

You don't need Oprah Winfrey to tell you your stuff is cool. Being on HGTV or Food Network shouldn't determine if you should like or love something. No matter where you live, from Pittsburgh to Kalamazoo, love the stuff you love regardless of what others think. Be your own person with your own opinions.

Muhammad Ali always claimed to be the greatest. You can actually be the greatest. How? Tell your friends about the stuff you love. Especially small businesses you love. Small businesses thrive on word of mouth testimonials. You will be the greatest and a hero.
