Chad Jordan: My Popcorn Life
Great Life In Lansing
Lansing deserves the great things that all big cities have. We are great people, hardworking and grind every single day to make things happen. We've got a great creative culture that works hard.
Be sure to support small businesses. They are the backbone of the community, I know that is a cliche but it is true. Old Town especially has great small businesses. From Whipped Bakery, Katalyst, Preuss Pets, October Moon, Grace, Curvaceous, Meat BBQ, Zoobies Bar and the Cosmo's. These are all my neighbors in Old Town. They are like family.
On the east side near the Okemos the store, there are also great businesses such as Dusty's Cellar and the Tap Room, Mert’s Meat, Buddies and many more.

Robert's Day of Caring occurred September 15th in Old Town. Volunteers planted vegetation and erected an art piece in memory of Robert Busby, known as the 'Mayor of Old Town'. Many people came out to beautify Burchard Park located south of Cesar Chavez Plaza.
Although this day has passed, you can still participate in Robert's Day of Caring. Cravings Gourmet Popcorn will donate $5 for every 7 for 25 Card you buy between Monday, September 16th and Wednesday, September 18th. The money raised will go towards upkeep and beautification of the park and artwork dedicated to Robert Busby in Old Town.
The 7 for 25 card allows you to buy 7 tall size popcorn for $25, it's like getting two free bags of popcorn. You can get popcorn whenever you want because it's a punch card.
Buy the card at Cravings Popcorn in Old Town, 1220 Turner Street or buy the card online. We will mail the card to you.
There is a surprise in every book. We took a tour through some of these libraries in East lansing and placed a few surprises. Pick up a book, read it and see what you find. There may be a surprise of tasty popcorn waiting for you.
Try one of our delicious Cheddar Cheese flavors. We ship fresh gourmet popcorn to you.
Some enjoy something lighter... Try Sea Salt & Pepper
When you see the "Crave Car" near one of these libraries, you might get a chance to receive free popcorn.
To say it's a micro library is an understatement. As I have traveled Michigan, I keep seeing more of these super small book exchanges. What is cool about them is the decorative architecture and the fact that you can select a book, read it and take it back. The honor system is an old school concept that helped bond our community.
Each time we see one of these little libraries, we are going to put cards inside of books for free popcorn. From Lansing to Okemos to Traverse City, be on the lookout and keep reading.

Your resolve. Your inner drive that propels you to a goal. Determination is what drives you to be great. Your greatness drives others to become determined. Do your best because you may inspire someone to be their best.
Generosity makes you feel good inside. It is the act of giving without expecting anything in return. You can change the life of someone while having a positive impact on your own life. Being generous is like planting seeds of good will. Its time for all of us to start a garden.
There are many reasons to love a day in Old Town. Shopping, art, food and festivals just to name a few. Many people have not been to Old Town since the 1970's and 1980's when the area was in decline. Today it is clean and safe, a beautiful area to visit and to be amazed by. You don't have to go up north to experience a small town downtown. Shop local businesses, enjoy a meal with friends and listen to music with your family. There's lots to love about Old Town Lansing.
Cravings Gourmet Popcorn welcomes Capital Community Bike Share to Old Town. In a recent post on Bike-sharing Blog, a site dedicated to reporting on bike-share programs, it says there has been a new bike share program starting almost every two days throughout the world.
Lansing’s new bike-share program pilot, Capital Community Bike Share, is rolling out on August 4th. The Capital Community Bike Share in little ole Lansing is drafting right behind Citi Bike, the New York City program launched in May, and Divvy, the Chicago bike-share that came online in July.
Bike-share programs are designed to be a convenient short-term rental system to help keep people moving in short hops throughout the urban centers. Lansing’s city bikes for this program are described as smart bikes, including solar technology on board for renting and tracking bike locations. The obvious benefits to the environment are easy to get….less gas, less pollution and if you think about It, the potential economic benefits could be equally beneficial. Those that are all-in with the bike share program can also look forward to some measurable health benefits as they change their habits for taking meetings or lunch breaks. The Paris bike share program is celebrating its 6th anniversary and has quantified the health benefits to participants.
The 20 bicycle sharing pilot program only lasts a few months so be sure to jump in early to support this important community project. Follow Capital Cummunity Bike Share on Facebook for regular updates.
At Cravings Gourmet Popcorn, we look forward to having our fans that live and work close by or in downtown Lansing satisfy their cravings for some Craving’s popcorn by hopping on a CCBS bike for a quick pick-up. We’ve tested it and the bike basket will easily handle 3 or 4 of our tall bags. Tell us you are on a CCBS bike and we will add an extra punch to your Cravings card!
