I Want To Create a Popcorn Bar… What Are My Options?

So you’ve decided you want to have a popcorn bar at your wedding, open house or other upcoming event, but what are your options?

If this sounds familiar, this post is here to help guide you through some popcorn bar ideas.

What Kind of Popcorn Can I Use To Create a Popcorn Bar?

Here at Cravings Gourmet Popcorn, we sell two types of popcorn that customers use for popcorn bars at events. The type that will work best for you depends on your needs and preferences.

Do You Want To Use Your Own Containers?

If you already have a type of container and presentation in mind, one popcorn bar option is to use our Jumbo and Monster-size bags. Jumbos each contain 80-cups of popcorn, and they are available for all flavors. Monsters contain 112-cups of popcorn, and they are only available for the Buttery Movie Theater flavor (available with regular or light salt). You can then pour the Jumbo or Monster bags into your own containers to create your popcorn bar.

Do You Want To Use Our Refillable Popcorn Tins?

Another option for creating your popcorn bar is to use our refillable popcorn tins. These tins are available in small 1-gallon, medium 2-gallon and large 3.5-gallon sizes. For small tins, you can have up to 2 flavors mixed up or divided into halves. For medium and large tins, you can have up to 3 flavors mixed or divided into halves or thirds. Please note that any flavors labeled as a "mix" are considered the one and only flavor in a tin.

How Many Should I Order?

The number of Monsters, Jumbos or tins that you need can be determined using our 3-cup single-serving suggestion.

For example, if you have an event with 100 guests, we suggest at least 300 cups of popcorn.

Small 1-gallon tins hold 16 cups, medium 2-gallon tins hold 32 cups and large 3.5-gallon tins hold 56 cups.
Jumbo bags hold 80 cups, and Monster bags hold 112 cups.

With large events, we recommend selecting a variety of flavors and/or sizes. Keep in mind, some people will eat more, and some will eat less.

What Is the Most Cost-Effective?

Again, the answer to this question depends on your individual needs. What kind of containers do you plan on using, and how much do they cost? Are you a regular customer who would like to reuse the popcorn tins for more affordable in-store refill options?

The pricing for tins is as follows:

Small 1-gallon tin: $24.95 (approximately five 3-cup single servings)
Medium 2-gallon tin: $29.95 (approximately ten 3-cup single servings)
Large 3.5-gallon tin: $39.95 (approximately eighteen 3-cup single servings)

For Jumbo and Monster bags:

Each Jumbo bag is a single flavor and 80 cups (approximately twenty-six 3-cup single servings): $40
Each Monster bag is only available for the Buttery Movie Theater flavor and 112 cups (approximately thirty-seven 3-cup single servings): $15 each or 2 for $20

How Do I Place an Order?

To place an order, please contact our Special Orders coordinator at specialorders@cravingspopcorn.com. We ask that you place your order at least two weeks in advance because we may not be able to accept your special order if we receive it with shorter notice.
